The events calendar at livinginauroville.in/calendar.html lists every upcoming dated event and weekly class in the Auroville–Pondicherry bioregion — concerts, workshops, films, yoga, markets — with times and venues. It is refreshed once a week from the community's own announcements.
How do I find a plumber, electrician, or carpenter in Auroville?
The directory at livinginauroville.in/directory.html has a trades section with community-vouched contacts: plumbers, electricians, carpenters, AC repair, house help, tailoring, and even snake rescue. Every name was shared and seconded inside the community's own WhatsApp groups — nobody pays to be listed.
Is livinginauroville.in an official Auroville website?
No. It is an independent, resident-made project — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the Auroville Foundation or any official Auroville body. The word Auroville is used descriptively, for the geography the page covers.
How often is the site updated?
Once a week, thoroughly: the community's WhatsApp groups, the weekly News & Notes newsletter, and other public sources are read end to end, and the calendar, board, and directory are refreshed. Each page shows when it was last read.
How do I get an event listed?
Announce it in the bioregion's public community groups — the weekly reading picks up public announcements automatically. You can also email contact@livinginauroville.in with the details.
How do I correct or remove a listing?
Email contact@livinginauroville.in with the listing name. Corrections are made as soon as reasonably possible, and removals happen within 24 hours of a request — no reason needed.
Does the site cost anything, or need an app?
No. It is free, has no login, no app, and sells nothing. It is built by a resident as a passion project, with one lightweight cookieless visitor counter and no tracking of individuals.
How this list is made: nobody pays to be here, and nobody is listed cold. Every name was shared and seconded inside the community's own WhatsApp groups, newsletters, and noticeboards — then collected by one weekly reading. Tap any name to reach its card; every card and category has a share button, so when a friend asks "know a plumber?", you can answer with a link. This is an independent project — not affiliated with or endorsed by the Auroville Foundation or any official Auroville body, and no name here is an endorsement.
